1. Seeing the first yellow arrow pointing the way... quite a rush to know you are beginning.
2. The first time you complete the expected kms. 3. Moments of feeling overwhelmed or exhausted or sad and something appears to make you hopeful. Examples: a fountain, a dog, a trio of horses, a dragonfly, a beer or a smoothie:) 4. Walking twice in one day, pushing it so that the next day would be easier especially since that would also be arrival time at Santiago. 5. Being offered a piece of fruit by some people who were supporting bicyclists cycling the camino. Best pear ever.... 6. Butterflies. 7. walking into Santiago, seeing the Cathedral in its grandeur and hearing bagpipes. 8. Drinking new wines and eating different foods that were yummy. 9. Meeting people, being part of a shared experience, feeling the history, sensing the rhythm and connectedness we all share. 10. Being present .... |
